This is part 2 of the background/sig tag combo. If you have not completed the first part (making the background) not to worry, I have included the finished background in the resource section. Or you can find the tutorial HERE.
This technique works well with almost any black and white photo with well defined edges. Choose photos without large areas of black such as undefined hair. You may have to increase the brightness and contrast before beginning if the photos are too dark.
The original photo is by an exceptional photographer Matthew Bowden aka thesaint. FYI...all of the photographic images used in my tutorials can be found at the stock.xchng. There are some wonderful photographers there and most of the images are offered without restrictions. Great stuff! you should check it out!

Let's get started
*Please note: If you install this tutorial as a quick guide you may get a script error when trying to view the images, just click "yes" at the prompt and the images will show properly. Don't know how to install quick guides? then check out the tutorial found HERE.- Open both images in PSP. Duplicate them (Shift+D) and close the originals.
- Activate the image of the man and woman and copy it (Crtl+C) then paste it as a new layer (Ctrl+L) onto the background image. Set the layer blend mode to hard light.
- Grab the mover tool
and move the layer around until you get the colors you want. Then go to layers->merge->merge visible. - Activate the crop tool
(or press r) and crop the image around the white area. Add a new raster layer. - Activate the text tool
(it is not necessary to set any color) and apply your text as a selection. I applied mine in 36 pt, but yours may be different to accomodate text. If your placement is not right you can move the selection by clicking on the move tool and holding the shift key and the right right mouse button. - Go to effects->Eye Candy 4000->Corona and apply the following settings:

You may need to adjust the glow width so that the flare doesn't overlap the edges of the image.
- Apply 3 drop shadows with the following settings:

There you go! All you have left to do is resize it to your taste and give it a border if you wish.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. I would really like to know if you were able to follow it and to see your results. If you have any problems or questions please feel free to .
