Resources
- PSP 8 or 9. You can download a demo of version 9 HERE.
- 2 gradients called gfx116 and gfx117. Download them HERE. Unzip them into your My PSP 8(9)gradients folder.
- Another gradient called duotone dark blue. I am not sure if this one came with PSP or if I picked it up on the web so check to make sure you don't have it before downloading. HERE.
- An inner bevel preset called brightcenter_gfx. Download it HERE. Unzip it into your My PSP 8(9) preset folder.
Let's get started
*Please note: If you install this tutorial as a quick guide you may get a script error when trying to view the images, just click "yes" at the prompt and the images will show properly. Don't know how to install quick guides? then check out the tutorial found HERE.- Open new image 300 x 300px, white raster background, 72 res. Add new layer.
- Set the background color to #808080. Get the preset shape tool set to eclipse retain style and create as vector UNchecked, all other settings default. Hold the shift key down and draw a circle in the center of your canvas.

- Select all, float, defloat, contract by 6 then save to alpha channel (all under the Selections menu). Hit the delete key. Select none.

- Apply the brightcenter_gfx inner bevel preset.
- Add a new raster layer. Load the selection from the alpha channel then flood fill with the gradient gfx116-angle 0, repeat 0. Select none.

- Add a new raster layer. Get the eclipse selection tool. Start at the top of the outer ring and draw a selection as shown below.

- Invert the selection. Flood fill duotone dark blue gradient- angle 0 repeat 0. Select none.

- Load the selection from alpha channel again. Invert the selection and hit delete.

- Invert the selection again and give it a gaussian blur radius 2.50.
- Add a new raster layer. Contract the selection by 20. Flood fill with the gradient gfx117.

- Expand the selection by 20 and give it a gaussian blur radius 10.
