- PSP 8 or 9. If you don't already have a copy you might be able to find one on eBay.
- **Optional** The heart preset shape. You can download it HERE. It is the first one on the third row. Unzip it into your My PSP8/9 Files->Preset shapes folder.
Let's get started
*Please note: If you install this tutorial as a quick guide you may get a script error when trying to view the images, just click "yes" at the prompt and the images will show properly. Don't know how to install quick guides? then check out the tutorial found HERE.- Choose a color scheme for your image. You will need 3 colors of the same hue--light, medium dark and dark. The medium dark will be your background color. Once you have decided on the background color open a new image 250px x 250px, 72 res, 16 mil colors. I have selected dark line #024042, light line #BDFCFD, bg #038288E.
- Set the foreground color to your darkest color (in my case #0240420 and the background color to nil (nothing).
- Get the preset shape tool set to retain style UNchecked, anti-alias checked, create as vector checked, line width 2 and apply the heart.
- Duplicate the layer (Layer->duplicate). Click on the plus sign on the layer palette by this layer. Then double click on the "hearts2305s" sub layer.
- When the dialog box comes up change the stroke color to your lightest color (in my case #BDFCFD).
- Click in the middle of the bounding box, hold the shift key down and hit the left arrow key 3 times and the down arrow key 3 times to nudge the shape to the left and down.
- Lower the opacity of the layer to between 40&50 depending on how light of a color you chose (I lowered it to 52).
- Now convert both of the vector layers to raster layers (Layers->convert to raster). Turn off visibilty to the background layer and merge the visible layers. You should just have 2 layers.
- Set your foreground color to the lightest color. Get the pen tool with the following settings:
- Left click and hold and draw a line the length you want. Now repeat steps 4-5.
- Convert each layer to raster. Lower the opacity on the light layer as before.
- Zoom in and get the mover tool
and move the dark line down below the light one. Merge the two line layers together.
Ctrl+C to copy the line. Ctrl+E to paste the line as a selection and place it where you want. Repeat this as many times as you wish. Select none.
Save and you're done! I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and found it easy to follow. If you have any comments or questions please feel free to .
