There are numerous ways to do a reflection.   I will show you two easy ways. The first is the easiest and something I learned in high school art class.   The idea for the second technique came from the Cingular site...I just wish I could figure out how to animate it like they have...lol.   If you have a better way to do a reflection and would like to share with others, please contact me.

  1. Open a new image 450px x 700 px, white background, 72 res, 16 mil colors.   Add new raster layer.
  2. Apply the tube near the top.   Duplicate this layer.
  3. Go to Image->flip (Shift+!) and flip the duplicate layer.
  4. Get the mover tool and move the copy below the original as shown.
  5. Lower the opacity of the layer to between 30-50, what ever looks best to you.
  6. Get the deform tool and push the bottom of the reflection up a little to make it a slightly shorter.
  7. Go to Adjust->blur->motion blur and apply at angle 0 and strength 19.   And that's the first technique.  Your image should look similar to this:
  1. Now for the second technique, do the above steps.
  2. Get the rectangular seclection tool with feather set to around 50.   Select approximately the bottom half of the reflection then hit the delete key.   Play around with the feather and the positioning of the selection until you have something that looks right for you.   Here's what I came up with.

And that's it, now just save and you're done!   I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and found it easy to follow.   If you have any comments or questions please feel free to .
