This tutorial is a little out of the norm for me as I don't feel that selection tutorials really teach you anything, but it was fun and I thought "what the heck!" a lot of people like to do these tutorials. The pattern was found in a tole painting book I purchased at Walmart so I don't claim it as my own, but the work in PSP is mine By the end of the tutorial you should at least be able to load and fill selections, do sort of a tole painting shade technique, and use color swatches, among other things.   And for those really new to PSP you can learn to make a new toolbar and make your own tube.

He also has a sister and you can find her tutorial HERE

Don't want to do the tutorial but want the tube? Then go HERE and get it.

Since this tutorial requires you to do a lot of repetitious work it is best to make a custom toolbar for this project.   (you can always delete it later).   So let's go ahead and make one.   You can skip this step if your workspace/toolbars are ergonomically efficient and you are comfortable with them.

Making a Custom toolbar for this project
  1. Right click on any of your toolbars to bring up a flyout.   Choose "Customize".
  2. Click on the toolbars tab then on New.  Give your new toolbar any name you wish then click OK.
  3. Now click on the Commands tab and choose Selections in the left pane.   Then drag the "Load selection from disk" to the newly created toolbar.   Repeat for "Contract", and "Select None".   Next click on "Layers" in the left pane and drag "Merge Down".   Then Close.

Your toolbar should look like this .   Just drag your new toolbar to a comfortable spot in your workspace.
