Let's get started
*Please note: If you install this tutorial as a quick guide you may get a script error when trying to view the images, just click "yes" at the prompt and the images will show properly. Don't know how to install quick guides? then check out the tutorial found HERE.- Open new image 500px x 350px, white bg, 72 res.
- Set background color to white and foreground to nil. Get the text tool
create as vector. Choose a wide font in a size large enough to accomodate your text (I used Georgia set to size 100). Apply your text, move it to the center if you have to. Convert the layer to a raster (you won't be able to see your text yet). - Go to selections->Select all, then float, then defloat. Now you should have the marching ants around your text.
- Set your foreground color to black and choose the "brown leaves" texture. Flood fill
(match mode none, blend mode normal, opacity 100) the selection. - Go to effects->edge effects and choose enhance.
- While still selected add a new raster layer and flood fill the selection with black.
- Go to Effect->3D effects and give it an outer bevel with the "metallic" preset but change the width to 19.
- Go to Selections->Contract by 3. Then hit the delete key.
- Go to Layers->Merge->merge down. Don't deselect.
- Go to Effects->3D effects->inner bevel and apply the brightcenter_gfx preset.
- Select none. Give it a drop shadow if you wish and your done!
