Golden Spiral Background
This tutorial will teach you how to make a gorgous background for your webpage or other graphic project. Feel free to customize it to your tastes.

- I like working with large images so in order to save download time I have zipped up the beginning image. You can download it HERE
Let's get started
*Please note: If you install this tutorial as a quick guide you may get a script error when trying to view the images, just click "yes" at the prompt and the images will show properly. Don't know how to install quick guides? then check out the tutorial found HERE.- Open the starting image. Click on the Freehand Selection tool
point to point, replace, feather 4 and select the lights only. As shown below

Edit/copy. Select none. Paste as a new layer.
- Move the layer so that the lights cover some of the area that was not part of the original selection. Flip and free rotate the layer so that all the lights do not go in the same direction.
- Repeat step 2 until all the "unlighted" areas are covered. Similar to this:

- Go to layers->merge->merge visible. Then go to adjust->blur->gaussian blur 7.92.
- Now go to effects->reflection effects->kaleidoscope and apply the following settings:

- Go to effects->image effects->seamless tiling and apply the following settings

And there you have it! Reduce it to a manageable size and your done.
You can get many different versions of this background simply by- Reducing the size of the image before beginning
- Changing the placement of the lights in steps 2 and 3
- Changing the kaleidoscope settings and tiling options
